On Saturday 25th August, 11 teams played in the annual Canadian Foursomes. It was teams of two and to get your handicap you added your two handicaps up and divided by two. The conditions were great with clear blue skies and the course had dried out well during the week and the green keeping staff had even been able to mow the fairways and some rough. The team of Doug Way/Jamie Smith excelled in the format scoring 77 of their 17 handicap and returned an unbelievable 46 Stableford points to win the Scramble and Canadian Foursomes Title for 2012 by 4 points.
A few players chose to play their last Harcourt’s Shootout qualifying round for July/August. With three rounds now complete Craig Bradley takes the 54 hole lead with a score of 188 nett which is 22 under his handicap. Jamie Smith lies in second position at 192 nett. The fourth round is the nine Saturdays in September/October. Look for there being some extremely low nett scores in the final weeks as the course dries out and players on long handicaps from the wet winter. The final of the Harcourt’s Shootout will be on Sunday 4th November where the 19 best 72 holes Nett Scores qualify for the Hole by Hole Knockout over 18 holes.
